Director Chinmay Ram has expressed strong confidence in his upcoming suspense horror thriller Jinn, assuring audiences that the film will deliver entertainment worth every rupee spent on a ticket. The film, produced by Nikhil M. Gowda under the Sadalamma Film Productions and Bilva Studios banners, is set for a grand theatrical release on December 19.
Speaking to the media ahead of the release, Chinmay Ram said Jinn marks an important milestone in his career as it is his first Telugu film after nearly 17 years of work in the Kannada film industry. He shared that the idea for Jinn originated when actor Parvez Simba, a close friend, narrated a story that he said came to him in a dream. The unusual concept immediately caught Chinmay’s attention and became the foundation for the film.
The story later reached producer Nikhil M. Gowda, who instantly appreciated its freshness and uniqueness and agreed to produce the film without hesitation. Chinmay Ram praised the producer’s dedication, stating that his unwavering support and refusal to compromise on quality were key reasons Jinn reached its current stage.
The director also revealed that the film’s journey was filled with eerie experiences. During the shoot, the team reportedly faced unexplained technical issues, including lights switching off on their own and cameras malfunctioning. An even more shocking incident occurred after promotions, when the team met with a severe car accident while traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru. Chinmay described their survival as a blessing and sheer stroke of luck.
Highlighting the technical aspects, Chinmay Ram credited music director Alex as a major strength of Jinn, saying the background score adds immense intensity to the film. He also praised cinematographer Sunil for delivering powerful visuals that enhance the overall cinematic experience.
Describing Jinn as a film based on a fresh and lesser-known concept, Chinmay said the mysterious world of jinns is rarely explored on screen. He assured that the film is designed to keep audiences thoroughly entertained from start to finish, offering complete value in a theatrical setting.
The director further revealed that the script for Jinn 2 is already ready and said positive audience response would encourage him to begin work on the sequel immediately. He concluded by requesting audiences to watch Jinn in theatres and support content-driven cinema.
