Music director Sricharan Pakala says the true impact of Shambala can be experienced only in theatres, as the film has been designed with an extraordinary soundscape that plays a crucial role in the storytelling. The upcoming film stars Aadi Saikumar in the lead and is directed by Ugandhar Muni, with production by Rajashekhar Annabhimoju and Mahidhar Reddy under the Shining Pictures banner. Shambala is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on December 25.
Speaking to the media as part of the film’s promotions, Sricharan Pakala described Shambala as a unique blend of scientific and mythological thriller elements. He revealed that he began working on the film immediately after hearing the narration, as the concept excited him from the very first day. According to him, director Ugandhar Muni has a deep understanding of sound, and the entire team approached the project with great passion and attention to detail.
Sricharan Pakala explained that while many composers use similar instruments, his focus is always on creating a fresh and distinctive sound. For a suspense-driven film like Shambala, he said the sound design had to keep audiences constantly engaged, sometimes even misleading them intentionally as part of the narrative. The film features four songs that are organically woven into the story, along with a powerful background score that elevates the tension and mood.
Drawing inspiration from the mythological stories he grew up with, the composer said working on Shambala felt especially close to his heart. He used a wide range of instruments and even custom-made equipment developed by himself to achieve a unique sonic texture. He also revealed that several sound effects in the film were created using his own voice, a creative experiment that impressed the director.
The composer praised the producers for giving the team complete freedom, adequate time, and strong financial support to deliver quality without compromise. He noted that both the songs and background score were completed smoothly, almost in a single creative flow. While the songs are being released gradually, he is confident they will leave a strong impression, including a beautiful melody associated with Aadi Saikumar and a striking end-title song.
Calling Shambala a very new and different film in Aadi Saikumar’s career, Sricharan Pakala said the actor and the entire team came together to make a solid and immersive cinematic experience. He added that the film’s sound design truly comes alive only in a theatre, making the big-screen experience essential for audiences.
Shambala marks Sricharan Pakala’s 49th film, with his 50th project Anumanapu Pakshi also lined up. He said both films are special to him and reaffirmed that he puts the same dedication into every project, working tirelessly to ensure originality and a strong personal signature in his music.
