Barely hours after the Jana Sena Party issued a firm statement calling for restraint and responsibility in public discourse, the party has been jolted by a controversy of its own. A fresh serious allegation against one of its MLAs has triggered sharp political reactions and uncomfortable questions.
The accusations are against Arava Sreedhar, the sitting MLA from Railway Koduru constituency. A woman employee has come forward with claims of prolonged harassment and intimidation spanning nearly one and a half years. She alleges that the MLA misused his position and authority to control and threaten her, pushing her into a situation she says she could no longer endure.
The woman has stated that she is married and has a young child, and that her husband works in Hyderabad. She claims that when she resisted, threats extended beyond her to her family. Videos and WhatsApp chats released by the complainant have added fuel to an already raging political fire.
The YSR Congress Party has seized on the issue, demanding answers from Jana Sena leadership and questioning its stated commitment to women’s safety. Opposition leaders have openly tagged Pawan Kalyan, asking what action will follow.
For Jana Sena, this is not just another allegation to brush aside. It strikes at the party’s moral positioning and its repeated emphasis on clean politics. While the truth will ultimately be decided through investigation and law, the political damage is already unfolding.
At a time when public trust in leaders is fragile, how the party responds now will matter far more than press notes. Silence or delay could cost credibility.
