In a major crackdown on food adulteration, the Hyderabad City Police uncovered a fake ginger-garlic paste manufacturing unit operating under highly unhygienic conditions in Kattedan. The raid was carried out by the Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairtabad Zone, along with the H-Fast Team, exposing a large-scale operation that posed a serious threat to public health.
During the operation, officials arrested 55-year-old Hasan Ali Rupani, owner of SKR Food Products. Authorities revealed that the unit was producing adulterated ginger-garlic paste using low-quality raw materials and harmful additives such as acetic acid and xanthan gum, without following any food safety standards. The products were reportedly being supplied to several restaurants and retail outlets across the city, raising concerns about consumer safety.
Police seized more than 4,032 kilograms of adulterated ginger-garlic paste, along with 6,210 kilograms of inferior raw materials. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be around ₹22 lakh. Officials stated that the manufacturing unit lacked basic hygiene and quality control measures, making the products unsafe for consumption.
The accused, along with the seized materials, has been handed over to the Mailardevpally Police for further investigation and legal action. Authorities have assured strict measures against food adulteration and urged citizens to remain cautious while purchasing packaged food products.
This incident highlights the growing need for stringent monitoring of food manufacturing units and increased awareness among consumers to ensure food safety and quality.
