“The Girlfriend,” starring National Crush Rashmika Mandanna and Dheekshith Shetty, is all set for a grand release. The emotional love drama, written and directed by Rahul Ravindran, is jointly produced by Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment, with presentation by ace producer Allu Aravind. The film hits theatres on November 7 in Telugu and Hindi, and on November 14 in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Ahead of its release, the team held a grand pre-release press meet in Hyderabad, where the cast and crew shared their heartfelt experiences.
Allu Aravind said that “The Girlfriend” gave him immense creative satisfaction. “I’ve produced many films and earned crores, but what I wanted from this film was emotional fulfillment. When Rahul narrated the story, I felt it revealed unspoken truths about life. He made it with honesty and sensitivity. This film is not about entertainment or glamour—it’s about emotions and relationships we all experience. Every family will relate to it in some way. After watching it, people may find it hard to sleep because it lingers in your heart,” he said. He praised Rashmika’s performance, calling it one of the finest by a Telugu actress in recent years, and predicted a bright future for Dheekshith Shetty, for whom he even gave an advance for his next film.
Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni said director Rahul Ravindran is deeply passionate about cinema and continued working despite personal struggles. He thanked Rashmika and Dheekshith for their dedication and revealed how Rashmika immediately agreed to do the film when she heard the story. Dheeraj also appreciated Vidya Koppineedi’s contribution, calling her a major force behind the movie. “With Allu Aravind garu’s support, I feel unstoppable,” he added.
Producer Vidya Koppineedi said, “This is not just a women-centric film; it’s for everyone. It carries deep emotional values that every mother, daughter, and sister can connect with. After watching Rashmika and Dheekshith, audiences will remember them as Bhuma and Vikram forever. Anu Emmanuel’s role will also leave a lasting impression.”
Director Rahul Ravindran expressed gratitude to Allu Aravind, saying that “The Girlfriend” wouldn’t have existed without his belief in the story. “Vidya and Dheeraj supported me like family. Rashmika and Dheekshith gave unforgettable performances. Rashmika truly lived her role,” he said.
Hero Dheekshith Shetty thanked the team for believing in him. “Allu Aravind garu’s gesture of giving me an advance for another project gave me hope and confidence. Rashmika was an amazing co-star who made me feel comfortable. If even one Vikram in the audience changes after watching our film, our effort will be worth it,” he shared.
Music directors Prashanth Vihari and Hesham Abdul Wahab praised the emotional depth of the movie, calling it a “visual and musical experience.” Editor Chota K Prasad said he felt honored to work in Geetha Arts’ editing room and predicted the film would be a special one for Allu Aravind.
With powerful performances, emotional storytelling, and soulful music, “The Girlfriend” promises to be a film that touches hearts and stays with audiences long after the credits roll.
