Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh is currently touring the United States with a focused mission — to attract large-scale investments that can transform Amaravati into a global multimedia and technology hub. During his visit, he met representatives from several leading companies to push forward the state’s ambitious plans.
The AP government had signed an agreement last year with Creative Land to develop Amaravati as a major transmedia city equipped with AI-driven virtual studios and advanced virtual reality theme parks. This project alone is expected to bring investments of nearly ₹10,000 crore. Once operational, it is projected to create around 1.5 lakh jobs, opening vast employment opportunities in multimedia, tech, gaming, design, and related fields.
Lokesh also met executives from Canva, the world-famous design platform, and invited them to participate in the Creative Land initiative. The minister held further discussions with Dev Patel, CTO of Autodesk, a global leader in architecture and industrial design software. He sought Autodesk’s technological support to develop cyclone-resistant infrastructure in Amaravati and coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh.
Another key part of Lokesh’s US tour focused on quantum computing. He proposed setting up a Quantum Computing Research Center in Amaravati in partnership with Rigetti Computing. Global tech giants IBM and Microsoft have already expressed interest in establishing quantum systems in the city. The government plans to position Amaravati as a major Quantum Computing Cloud Hub, attracting advanced research and next-gen tech companies to the state.
With these strategic partnerships and large-scale proposals, Amaravati is moving closer to becoming one of India’s most futuristic tech and media destinations — a city powered by innovation, high-end research, and massive employment potential.
