Sydney (Australia):
Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh met Jodi McKay, Director of the Australia–India CEO Forum, in Sydney and invited Australian industries to invest in Andhra Pradesh’s rapidly developing industrial zones. Lokesh urged that Andhra Pradesh be included in the Australia–India State Engagement Agenda, highlighting the state’s strong growth story, business-friendly policies, and world-class infrastructure.
He requested support for the Australia–Andhra Pradesh CEO Roundtable, to be jointly organized by APEDB, CII, and the Business Council of Australia, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh offers major opportunities in energy, ports, logistics, and digital sectors, and encouraged Australian CEOs to partner in these key areas. He also proposed a special report titled “Investing in Andhra Pradesh – Gateway to India’s East Coast” to be part of the Forum’s investment agenda, showcasing the state’s strategic advantages and investor-ready projects.
The Minister invited Australian participation in major industrial clusters located in Krishnapatnam, Visakhapatnam, and Anantapur, assuring full government support and ease of doing business. Lokesh also invited the CEO Forum leadership team to attend the Partnership Summit 2025, scheduled on November 14–15 in Visakhapatnam, to explore new opportunities and deepen engagement with Andhra Pradesh’s growth ecosystem.
Jodi McKay appreciated Andhra Pradesh’s proactive approach and said the Australia–India CEO Forum, launched in 2012 under the leadership of both nations’ Prime Ministers, continues to promote strong cooperation in trade, investment, education, skills, and migration. She noted that trade between India and Australia has reached USD 48.4 billion, and both countries are expanding collaboration through the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Lokesh’s visit marks another step in Andhra Pradesh’s global investment outreach, positioning the state as a prime destination for international partnerships and sustainable industrial growth.
