Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed Visakhapatnam Police to identify the full network behind the illegal beef storage racket uncovered in the city. He made it clear that no one involved in the operation should be spared, regardless of their influence or background.
Pawan Kalyan reviewed the case after a massive quantity of beef was seized from Mitra Cold Storage. Speaking to the Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner, he sought detailed information on how such a huge stock could be stored at one location without detection. He questioned where the beef originated, how it was transported, and which groups were operating behind this illegal supply chain.
According to the Commissioner, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted raids on Mitra Cold Storage and seized 1.89 lakh kilograms of illegally stored beef. The DRI also detained those present at the facility and later handed over the case to the police for further investigation.
Police officials informed the Deputy CM that the investigation is currently focused on the source of the beef, the scale of the smuggling network, possible violations of permits, and the final destinations planned for the transported meat. The Commissioner assured that strict action would be taken against all those responsible once the inquiry is completed.
This major seizure has raised many questions about the operational depth of illegal meat trafficking in the region, and authorities are under pressure to dismantle the entire network.
