Pawan Kalyan today in the meeting with officials has announced a major step to improve local governance in Andhra Pradesh. He said that efforts are being made to bring much bigger reforms that empower panchayats and improve services for the people in the local Panchayats, as it’s known fact on how Pawan Kalyan was already earlier successful in organising 13000 Grama sabhas at a same time and developing 4000kms of roads to tribal areas of the state.

In a review meeting with senior officials of the Panchayati Raj Department, Pawan revealed that from November 1, a statewide new village-level development drive will begin. The new policy initiative will focus on enhancing basic amenities like drinking water and electricity, transparency and efficiency in all panchayats.

He mentioned that about 13,351 panchayats across the state will be covered under this new plan. New Cluster-based monitoring will be introduced where several panchayats are clubbed into different cluster groups that operate beyond the other levels of governments and directly under the scope of Deputy Chief Minister’s office and officials from the minister’s office will visit villages to directly assess the needs and challenges of Panchayats without any direct interference of tahasildars and other local administrators.

Pawan also added that the upcoming Gram Panchayat Diwas will mark the beginning of a new chapter in rural development. Services will be delivered faster and more efficiently without any local misadministration, ensuring that citizens can see the changes visible at the ground level with the help of the Ministry directly. This New initiative shall aim to give more freedom to panchayats, reducing delays in decision-making and allowing village leaders to act independently on local issues.

He further directed officials to ensure that the outcomes of these reforms are directly felt by the public. “Our goal is to make villages self-reliant and people-driven,” he said.

With this, Pawan Kalyan hopes to create a strong and transparent system that connects local governance more closely with citizens, a step that could redefine how rural administration works in the state.
