Ever since it was announced that Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan are reuniting for a multi-starrer film, people have been very curious about who will be directing this project. After the likes of Lokesh Kanagaraj and Pradeep Ranganathan, it is now being rumoured that Nelson will be helming this movie.
As per the latest reports in the Tamil media, Nelson recently narrated a script to both actors, which they liked immensely. It was heard that Lokesh Kanagaraj narrated a violent action film, which Rajini was apparently sceptical about doing. It seems that he liked the lighter subject narrated by Nelson.
Currently, Nelson is working on Jailer 2 with Rajini. If he comes on board for Rajini-Kamal multi-starrer, it will be his third film with Rajini and first with Kamal. Reportedly, Nelson will start the pre-production of this project after completing Jailer 2. In the meantime, Rajini will work on a project with Sundar C, and Kamal will do a film with Anbariv.
If the ongoing rumours are true, Kaithi 2 will be Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next immediate project. In that case, losing this new project may not affect him significantly. After all, he has already collaborated with both leading stars. Moreover, Kaithi 2 stands among the most highly anticipated upcoming films in Indian cinema, a project that will undoubtedly sustain or even increase Lokesh’s popularity to the next level.
