Amaravati: Heritage Foods Limited has issued a legal notice to YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on February 13, 2026, alleging that he made false, misleading and defamatory statements against the company as part of a politically motivated campaign. The company said the repeated allegations were aimed at damaging its reputation and misleading the public, and warned of strict legal action if the campaign continues.
In its notice, Heritage Foods stated that it has built its brand over more than three decades on quality, transparency and consumer trust across India, and that recent press meets and media reports based on Jagan’s remarks were designed to distort facts and create a negative narrative against the company. The firm said the allegations were not supported by evidence and were presented in a manner that unfairly portrayed the company in a criminal light.
The company strongly denied claims linking it to adulteration, supply irregularities to TTD ghee, conspiracies or so-called “syndicates”, calling them baseless and unlawful. Heritage Foods said such claims were made with the intent to mislead the public and tarnish its image, and that its business relationships with other entities are purely legal and within the framework of standard commercial agreements.
Heritage Foods demanded that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and leaders of his party immediately withdraw the statements and issue an unconditional public apology. The company also cautioned that if the false narrative continues, it will initiate civil and criminal proceedings to protect its reputation, business interests and the trust of consumers.
The company said the ongoing attack is not just against one corporate entity but harms the credibility of India’s business ecosystem and undermines public confidence in established brands.
