Ahead of the IPL trading deadline, we hear some big news. According to the latest reports, Rajasthan Royals’ incumbent captain and star player Sanju Samson is being traded to Delhi Capitals for South African pinch-hitter Tristan Stubbs.
On the other side, it is also being heard that the Kolkata Knight Riders is trying hard to buy KL Rahul from the Delhi Capitals. If the news is true, these are going to be huge trades ahead of the next season.
As per reports, DC is interested in trading Stubbs for Samson but is not keen on selling KL Rahul. Samson earlier played for DC and also led them in a few games. He has a good rapport with the management as well, and that might be another reason why DC is showing interest in him.
Meanwhile, the cracks between the Rajasthan Royals and Sanju Samson were exposed last season. While Samson was keen on retaining Buttler, RR left him ahead of the 2024 season. Apparently, he also had no call in most of the decisions made by the management last season. We hear that RR is also asking for an uncapped player along with Stubbs in return for trading Samson.
On the flip side, though KKR is trying hard for KL Rahul, seeing him as a potential captain choice, DC seems to be disinterested in trading him. Rahul played a key role in DC’s batting last year and they aren’t ready to leave such an experienced player. The deadline for IPL trading is mid-November and the auction is expected to be held in latter half of December.
