In a heartwarming gesture, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, extended his support to a differently-abled man from Mandapeta constituency by gifting him a tri-scooter from his own funds.
The beneficiary, Merla Venkateswara Rao from Chennuru village in Konaseema district, had recently gained attention for his inspiring journey. He traveled all the way from Chennuru to Palakollu in an auto-rickshaw to personally congratulate Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu for their governance and welfare initiatives. During that visit, he expressed his heartfelt wish to meet Chandrababu Naidu in person and take a photograph with him.
Moved by his spirit, Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu had promised to fulfill his wish and assured him of a tri-scooter to help him commute more easily. Later, Minister Nara Lokesh, deeply touched by the man’s determination, promised to personally provide the tri-scooter.
On Monday, Lokesh kept his word and handed over the vehicle to Venkateswara Rao at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri during the Praja Darbar. The moment was filled with emotion as the minister personally interacted with him while delivering the scooter.
Expressing his happiness, Venkateswara Rao said he was overwhelmed by Lokesh’s kindness and thanked him for fulfilling the promise. The minister’s thoughtful act has won wide praise, symbolizing the compassionate face of leadership.
