Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has welcomed the passage of the Amaravati Bill in the Lok Sabha, calling it a historic and defining moment for the state. In a detailed statement, he congratulated the people of Andhra Pradesh and said the decision reflects the collective will, resilience, and long-standing aspirations of nearly five crore citizens.
Describing the development as a major turning point, Pawan Kalyan said the approval of the bill, which declares Amaravati as the sole and permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh, has brought renewed confidence among people, investors, and industry stakeholders. According to him, Amaravati is set to emerge not just as an administrative capital but also as a symbol of hope, unity, and progress for the state.
He paid special tribute to the farmers of the Amaravati region, acknowledging their significant contribution in the capital formation process. Highlighting that over 33,000 acres of land were voluntarily pooled by farmers, he described their sacrifice as an extraordinary act of trust and commitment that will be remembered for generations. He noted that the success of Amaravati is deeply rooted in the support and belief of these farming communities.
Pawan Kalyan also credited the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for consistently pursuing the Amaravati vision. He said the Chief Minister’s determination and long-term planning played a crucial role in shaping the capital’s development roadmap. At the same time, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government for extending continuous support in bringing the project closer to reality.
Referring to the political challenges in recent years, Pawan Kalyan said the state had gone through a period of uncertainty due to previous policy decisions, which impacted farmers, women, and youth. However, he stated that the people of Andhra Pradesh responded with clarity by electing a stable NDA government, thereby choosing a path focused on development, stability, and long-term growth.
He emphasized that the parliamentary approval of the Amaravati Bill has now restored faith among citizens and created a positive environment for investment and infrastructure development. According to him, Amaravati has the potential to become a major growth engine and contribute significantly to the economic progress of the state.
Looking ahead, Pawan Kalyan said Amaravati will play a key role in achieving the vision of Swarna Andhra 2047 and aligning with the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. He expressed confidence that the capital city will evolve into a modern, world-class hub that reflects both the aspirations of the people and the broader development goals of the country.
The passage of the Amaravati Bill in Parliament has triggered widespread discussions across political and public spheres, with leaders describing it as a milestone in the state’s journey. With this development, expectations are now high regarding the pace of capital development and the future growth trajectory of Andhra Pradesh.
