Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan spent time among the people of his Pithapuram constituency, combining festive celebrations with grassroots governance. After inaugurating the Pithapuram Sankranti celebrations, he undertook a field-level visit across the town, walking through streets, interacting directly with residents, and listening patiently to their concerns.
Stepping out near the RRBHR College Grounds, Pawan Kalyan got down from his convoy on noticing people waiting with petitions. He walked on foot up to the Sri Kukuteswara Swamy Temple, greeting citizens along the way and engaging in conversations. Several residents submitted representations related to housing, safety, and basic amenities. A woman requested allocation of house-site land, while others raised serious concerns about dangerously sagging electric wires near their homes, which they said had already led to fire accidents. Taking immediate note, the Deputy Chief Minister instructed officials on the spot to resolve the issue without delay.
During the walk, Pawan Kalyan emphasized the importance of quick administrative response and directed authorities to act promptly on the grievances received from the public. His approach of personally meeting people and understanding their problems drew attention from locals, many of whom welcomed the hands-on style of leadership.
Later, Pawan Kalyan visited the Pithapuram Town Police Station, where he inspected the premises, reviewed the law-and-order situation, and interacted with police personnel. He also posed for photographs with the staff. After exiting the station, he met residents of the nearby Yanadi colony near the Kukuteswara Swamy Temple. Colony residents appealed for permanent housing and a solution to long-pending drainage problems, which they said were affecting daily life.
The Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with shopkeepers around the temple area, enquiring about their welfare and business conditions. He concluded his visit by meeting temple priests and spending a few moments with them.
Adding to the festive spirit, Pawan Kalyan announced major development initiatives for the Pithapuram constituency. As part of the Sankranti celebrations, he laid foundation stones and inaugurated development works worth ₹211 crore. These include a ₹9.60 crore flatbed factory complex in the Pithapuram mandal, a multipurpose fisheries center at Konapapapeta, works under the employment guarantee scheme, R&B-funded road projects, Gokulams, and several other infrastructure and welfare projects funded through various government schemes.
The visit highlighted a blend of celebration and governance, with Pawan Kalyan positioning Sankranti not just as a festival for Pithapuram, but also as a starting point for accelerated development and responsive administration in the constituency.
