Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda remains on ventilator support at Fortis Hospital in Mohali after sustaining severe injuries in a motorcycle accident in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. Hospital authorities said he is under close observation by neurosurgery and critical care specialists due to the seriousness of his condition.
The accident occurred in the Baddi area while Jawanda was traveling to Shimla, when he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle. He suffered major head and spine injuries and was immediately shifted to Mohali in a critical condition.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the hospital on Sunday to check on Jawanda’s health, while several Punjabi artists have urged fans and the public to pray for his speedy recovery. Support and good wishes have been pouring in from across the Punjabi entertainment community.
Originally from Pona village in Ludhiana’s Jagraon, Rajvir Jawanda is widely recognized for songs like Tu Dis Penda, Khush Reha Kar, Sardari and Landlord. Besides his singing career, he has also appeared in Punjabi films including Subedar Joginder Singh (2018), Jind Jaan (2019) and Mindo Taseeldarni (2019).
