Christmas has become another key release window for Telugu films after Sankranthi. Filmmakers often target the holiday season to attract audiences before the big January lineup. This year, the Christmas slot looks crowded, with six Telugu films lined up for release on December 25, 2025.
The first among them is Dacoit, a romantic action thriller directed by Shaneil Deo. The film stars Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles, with Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, and others in supporting parts. The movie is set to release on December 25.
Next is Champion, featuring Roshan Meka as a football player. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Pradeep Advaitham, the sports drama is produced by Swapna Cinema and Anandi Art Creations. The film reportedly has a budget of around Rs. 50 crore, with music by Mickey J Meyer.
Shambhala: A Mystical World stars Aadi Sai Kumar and is directed by Ugandhar Muni. The supernatural thriller is set in a village where a meteoroid strike leads to mysterious deaths. The film also features Archana Iyer, Swasika Vijay, and Ravi Varma, with music by Sricharan Pakala.
Funky, starring Vishwak Sen and directed by Anudeep KV, promises to deliver trademark Anudeep-style humor. Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead, and Bheems Ceciroleo handles the music. The makers are planning a Christmas release for this comedy entertainer.
Patang, directed by debutant Praneeth Prattipati, will also hit screens on December 25. Set around a kite-flying competition, the film stars Preethi Pagadala, Vamssi Pujit, Pranav Kaushik, and S.P. Charan. It’s described as a sports comedy, a relatively new genre in Telugu cinema.
Finally, Euphoria, directed by Gunasekhar, is set for a global release on Christmas. The film features Bhumika Chawla, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sara Arjun, and Nasser. Bhumika reunites with Gunasekhar two decades after Okkadu. The music is composed by Kaala Bhairava.
With six films targeting the same date, the Christmas box office could get crowded. It remains to be seen which ones go ahead and which step back closer to release.
