In a touching display of unity, six LGBTQIA+ artists join forces today to release a single in tribute to The Vivienne.
Featuring vocals from Bentley Robles, Bimini, Eden Hunter, Ellis Miah, Janethan and Tia Kofi, ‘Your Light Will Shine’ was written by The Vivienne’s friend and long-time manager Simon Jones, who describes the song as a celebration of late stars lasting legacy but also “a message of unity, love and understanding”.
All proceeds from the singles release will go to Switchboard, the national LGBTQIA+ support line that recently marked its 50th anniversary.
Commenting on the heartfelt track, Simon says: “I wanted to do something that would not only honour The Vivienne’s lasting legacy but also help raise vital funds for a charity that does so much for our community. Viv was a trailblazer and a one off, and in this song we celebrate their life but also remind everyone that right now we need to be united as a community and fight for our love more than ever. I’m so grateful to the amazing music artists who have given their time and talent to create this beautiful pop song.”

The Vivienne, born James Lee Williams, who shot to fame after winning the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, died in January 2025 following a cardiac arrest linked to ketamine use. Jones said of their friend: “Viv was a trailblazer and a one-off,” and stressed the importance of community solidarity in continuing to fight for love.
The project continues a series of tributes to The Vivienne’s life and influence, including the BBC documentary Dear Viv, which explores both Williams’ rise in the drag scene and the personal struggles they faced.
