The makers of Mandaadi have officially announced the film’s worldwide theatrical release date. Backed by RS Infotainment and produced by Elred Kumar, the much-anticipated drama starring Soori and Suhas is set to arrive in cinemas on September 4.
Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, Mandaadi recently wrapped up its extensive shooting schedule, with post-production work currently progressing at a rapid pace. The film was shot across challenging coastal locations, including significant portions along the shores of Ramanathapuram, bringing authenticity to its unique setting and narrative.
Set against a rarely explored sporting backdrop, Mandaadi is rooted in the lives, struggles, and resilience of coastal communities. The film aims to blend emotional storytelling with intense drama while showcasing the spirit of people living by the sea.
Soori takes center stage in what is said to be one of the most demanding roles of his career. The actor reportedly underwent extensive preparation for the character and plays a pivotal role in the story. Adding to the excitement is Telugu actor Suhas, who makes his Tamil cinema debut with the film. Known for his versatile performances, Suhas will be seen in a powerful antagonist-like role, marking a significant transformation from his previous outings. His dedication to the project is evident, with the actor spending nearly 100 shooting days on the film.
The recently unveiled release date poster has further increased curiosity. Featuring Soori and Suhas standing face-to-face on a rocky shoreline against a stunning sunset backdrop, the poster hints at a fierce rivalry. While Suhas is seen holding a sword, Soori’s intense expression suggests a high-stakes conflict at the heart of the story. The fishing boats, sea, and dramatic coastal landscape reinforce the film’s distinctive setting.
Mahima Nambiar plays the female lead, while veteran actor Sathyaraj, Ravindra Vijay, Mithun, and Bala Saravanan appear in key supporting roles.
The film also boasts a strong technical team. Music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography is handled by S.R. Kathir, and production design is overseen by D.R.K. Kiran. Pradeep E. Ragav serves as the editor, while the action sequences are choreographed by Peter Hein, Dhilip Subburayan, and Mahesh Mathew.
With its intriguing premise, coastal backdrop, and the much-talked-about clash between Soori and Suhas, Mandaadi has already generated considerable buzz. The makers are expected to ramp up promotional activities in the coming weeks ahead of its September release.
