The makers of The India Story: Slow Poison in Progress have released the film’s hard-hitting teaser, offering a glimpse into a socially relevant story that focuses on the dangers of pesticide farming and its impact on public health. Featuring Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade in lead roles, the film aims to highlight an issue that affects millions of people while encouraging conversations around food safety and health.
Presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Production & Studios, The India Story is directed by Chettan DK and written and produced by Sagar B. Shinde. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 24, 2026, in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
The teaser follows the journey of Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade as they uncover the hidden realities of pesticide farming while fighting for justice. It explores the growing health concerns linked to toxic chemicals entering the food chain and their possible impact on families, particularly children. Speaking about the project, director Chettan DK said The India Story is more than just a film and hopes it will spark an important conversation in society. According to him, the teaser offers only a glimpse of a much larger issue, with the film aiming to create awareness and encourage audiences to think more carefully about the food they consume.
Shreyas Talpade said he was drawn to the project because of its socially relevant subject. He noted that pesticide farming affects every household, yet its long-term consequences are rarely discussed. Through his character, he hopes audiences connect with the emotional struggle of an ordinary parent taking on a much larger system.
Kajal Aggarwal said the film carries a powerful social message and resonated with her personally as a mother. She added that the story reflects the concerns many parents have about food safety and the health of future generations. Kajal expressed hope that the film will encourage people to become more aware of what they consume and its long-term impact.
The film is backed by co-producers Swati Vinayak Saindane, Anita Jadhav, Vinayak Saindane, Kalpesh Shah, Devyani Khorate and Prem Joshi. The technical team includes cinematographer Nishant Bhagwat, music composer Mangesh Dhakde, editor Ashish Mhatre, lyricist Shakeel Azami and sound designer Anmol Bhave.
