Prabhas Unveils ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ Teaser; Varun Tej Promises a Fun Horror Adventure

The makers of Korean Kanakaraju have released the film’s much-awaited teaser, and it was unveiled by Rebel Star Prabhas. Starring Mega Prince Varun Tej in the lead, the film is directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and produced by UV Creations in association with First Frame Entertainment. The horror-comedy is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 7.

The teaser introduces Kanakaraju, a carefree youngster from Penukonda in Andhra Pradesh’s Rayalaseema region. His life takes an unexpected turn after he falls in love with a Korean girl. However, things become even more unusual when a mysterious vessel arrives from Korea, bringing with it supernatural forces. Possessed by a Korean spirit, Kanakaraju transforms into “Korean Kanakaraju,” setting the stage for a story filled with comedy, action, fantasy, and horror.

Varun Tej appears in a completely new avatar and impresses with his authentic Rayalaseema dialect. His rugged long-haired look and energetic screen presence add freshness to the character, while his transformation into Korean Kanakaraju towards the end of the teaser stands out as one of its biggest highlights. His comedy scenes with Satya promise plenty of laughs, and Ritika Nayak looks convincing as the Korean girl.

Director Merlapaka Gandhi blends rural comedy with fantasy and horror, creating a unique backdrop that shifts between Penukonda and Korea. The teaser offers a mix of entertaining moments, supernatural elements, and commercial appeal without revealing too much about the story.

The visuals by cinematographer Manojh Reddy Katasani beautifully capture both the rustic landscapes of Rayalaseema and the vibrant locations in Korea. Thaman’s energetic background score adds excitement to the teaser, while editor Satyaa G keeps the pace engaging with crisp cuts. The production values from UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment are evident throughout the teaser.

With an unusual concept, entertaining presentation, and a fresh blend of horror, comedy, fantasy, and action, Korean Kanakaraju has generated positive curiosity ahead of its theatrical release on August 7.
