Actress Ayesha Khan, who was recently seen in Dhurandhar, was detained by the Mumbai Police while attempting to join a protest in support of NEET aspirants. The incident took place in Mumbai’s Dadar area, where students and activists had gathered to protest against the alleged irregularities in the examination. Ayesha later shared videos from the police vehicle and the police station, explaining what had happened. According to Ayesha, she had gone to the protest venue along with her brother and friends to express solidarity with the students. She claimed they had not raised slogans or started the protest when police officers stopped them and asked them not to assemble. Soon after, they were taken into a police vehicle and shifted to Worli Police Station.
In a video recorded from the police station, Ayesha questioned why she had been detained despite not violating any law. She said the group repeatedly asked the police about the reason for the detention but did not receive a clear answer. At the same time, she clarified that the officers at the police station treated them politely and acknowledged their professional behaviour. The actress also pointed out that the restrictions on protests were scheduled to come into effect only from the following day. She questioned why action was taken even before the demonstration had actually begun. Her videos have since gone viral across social media, drawing mixed reactions from the public.
Ayesha Khan has been steadily establishing her career in both Telugu and Hindi after gaining recognition through Bigg Boss 17. She appeared in Telugu films like Mukhachitram, Om Bheem Bush and Manamey before featuring in Dhurandhar. The Hindi blockbuster opened doors for more and more roles for this beauty.
