Hindi Zee5 has announced the exclusive digital premiere of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, a thriller-drama inspired by the real-life courage displayed during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Starring Kangana Ranaut, Girija Oak, and Smita Tambe, the film will begin streaming on August 14, 2026, just ahead of Independence Day.
Written and directed by Manoj Tapadia, the film is produced by PEN Studios, Manikarnika Films, and Paramhans Creations in association with Eunoia Films LLP and Floating Rocks Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Instead of focusing on the well-known security operations during the attacks, the film tells the lesser-known story of the doctors, nurses, ward boys, cleaners, security staff, and other healthcare workers at Mumbai’s Cama and Albless Hospital.
Set during one of the darkest nights in India’s history, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata follows the extraordinary bravery of hospital staff who risked their own lives to protect patients after terrorists entered the hospital premises. With limited resources but an unwavering commitment to duty, they stood strong in the face of danger, making countless acts of courage that have remained largely unheard.
The film aims to highlight the strength, compassion, and resilience of ordinary people who performed extraordinary acts during a national tragedy. By bringing these untold stories to the screen, the makers hope to pay tribute to the healthcare workers whose sacrifices played a vital role in saving lives.
Speaking about the film, Kaveri Das, Business Head – Hindi Zee5 and Chief Channel Officer – &TV, said the platform is proud to present a story that honours the courage of the healthcare workers of Cama Hospital. She said their selfless actions during the 26/11 attacks are a powerful reminder that true heroism is often found in ordinary people who choose humanity over fear.
Actor and producer Kangana Ranaut said Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata was a deeply meaningful project for her as it brings to light the inspiring stories of healthcare workers who stood between terror and humanity. She added that releasing the film around Independence Day makes its message even more significant, celebrating the spirit of Indians who rise to extraordinary challenges during times of crisis.
Director Manoj Tapadia said the team’s vision was to present the events of 26/11 from a perspective that had not been explored before. While the bravery of the country’s security forces is widely recognised, he said the courage shown by doctors, nurses, and hospital staff inside Cama Hospital deserves equal recognition. He expressed hope that the film would introduce audiences across the country to these inspiring real-life stories.
With an emotional narrative rooted in true events and a cast led by Kangana Ranaut, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is set to stream exclusively on Hindi Zee5 from August 14, 2026, offering viewers a moving tribute to the unsung heroes of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
