After Superstars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, Vishal is the Tamil actor who gained a standard market in Telugu. Though his origins are from Telugu, Vishal’s family is settled in Chennai. For years, Vishal enjoyed huge craze and his films had a simultaneous release in Telugu. A series of debacles have spoiled the market of Vishal. The actor has now made his debut as director with Magudam and the film released today as Makutam in Telugu.
The film failed to register decent openings and is heading for a huge debacle. The openings are quite poor in Tamil. In the Telugu states, several shows got canceled due to the lack of audience. Vishal’s directorial skills are badly criticized. Apart from the response, the film failed to open on a decent note. The promotions are poor and the film released along with Suriya’s Vishwanath and Sons because of which a bigger damage happened. From one of the most bankable actor, Vishal has now reached to a level that his films are not being marketed and the audience are no longer interested to watch his films in theatres.
