A few days after taking part in the Bonalu celebrations at a temple in Hyderabad’s Old City, actress Faria Abdullah has responded to the trolling she received on social media. The actress was criticised by a section of users for wearing a saree and carrying Bonam despite being Muslim.
In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, Faria opened up about her family’s beliefs and said her father is a converted Muslim. She revealed that she was raised to respect every faith and believes religion should bring people together rather than create divisions.
Speaking about spirituality, Faria said her family celebrates and honours different religions with equal love and that humanity, kindness and compassion matter more than religious labels. Her message has struck a chord with many fans, who praised the actress for promoting unity and communal harmony instead of responding with anger.
The viral video comes shortly after her Bonalu appearance sparked an online debate, with several people also coming out in support of her right to celebrate any festival she chooses.
On the work front, Faria Abdullah, who rose to fame with Jathi Ratnalu, was last seen in Mathu Vadalara 2. She currently has multiple Telugu projects in the pipeline and is expected to announce her next releases soon.
