This weekend marked the perfect comeback for Ravi Teja as an actor with Irumudi. The box-office performance of Irumudi surprised the Tollywood circles along with Ravi Teja and the entire film fraternity. Ravi Teja has been struggling for success since years and his recent offerings struggled to open on a decent note. But Irumudi opened to packed houses and the film gained strength for every single show on Friday. There is huge scarcity for tickets and the distributors tried their best to accommodate the screens. The day one numbers are rock solid and the advance bookings for Saturday and Sunday are great.
The day two numbers are quite bigger than day one and the Sunday numbers are the highest for the film in its first weekend. Even the Sunday night shows are packed with family audience. After years, the gap between demand and supply is huge. Though the number of screens are increased for the film, a huge number of people returned back home without watching Irumudi. The makers and distributors struggled to meet up the demand because of the mad rush of the audience for Irumudi. The other screens are accommodated for films like Vishwanath and Sons, Korean Kanakaraju, DC and others.
Suriya’s film Vishwanath and Sons had a fantastic weekend in cities and the film remained decent in B and C centres. The film was decent in its second weekend in the Telugu states. Korean Kanakaraju has been decent on Saturday and Sunday in the limited number of screens.
On the whole, it is the show of Irumudi completely from the Telugu states to overseas. The film is a huge relief for Ravi Teja and it will bring big profits for Mythri Movie Makers. The film also marks the comeback of Shiva Nirvana as a director.
