Melbourne, Australia: Andhra Pradesh is quickly emerging as a top investment destination, and the arrival of the Google Data Center is proof of the state’s rapid growth, said Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh. Speaking at the CII Partnership Summit Roadshow in Melbourne, organized by the Australia India Business Council (AIBC), he highlighted the state’s investor-friendly policies and strong leadership as key reasons for this success.
Minister Lokesh emphasized that Andhra Pradesh is not just a project destination but a partner for investors. “Once you join hands with us, it’s not your project alone, it’s our project too,” he said. The state ensures daily monitoring and follow-up of every investment project through direct communication with officials and leaders, guaranteeing timely completion and smooth implementation.
Highlighting the Google Data Center, Lokesh said it is the result of 13 months of continuous effort. He personally guided Google leadership on site visits, policy discussions, and secured necessary central government approvals, including consultations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and key ministers. This project not only strengthened Andhra Pradesh’s position but also paved the way for India to become a global data hub.
In the past 16 months alone, Andhra Pradesh has attracted investments worth ₹10 lakh crore, marking just the beginning of the state’s growth trajectory. Under Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s visionary leadership, the government provides full support to every project, ensuring ease of doing business and strategic alignment with national development goals.
Lokesh also highlighted the state’s diverse industrial focus, covering 15 sectors including automotive, electronics, pharma, steel, renewable energy, and quantum computing. Currently, Andhra Pradesh contributes nearly 50% of the country’s AC manufacturing, aiming to increase it to 70%, supported by a robust ecosystem.
Andhra Pradesh is now ranked second among India’s fastest-growing states and is on track to become number one. The upcoming CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14-15 will showcase investment opportunities in the city, which is evolving into a trillion-dollar economic corridor. Visakhapatnam is set to become one of India’s top three economic cities in the near future.
The Melbourne event was attended by AIBC National Chair Deepak Raj Gupta, Consul General of India Dr. Sushil Kumar, and CII Director Ashok, along with leading industrialists and investors.
