Actor Vijay Deverakonda has shared a powerful and emotional statement highlighting what he described as the disturbing reality of organised attacks against films in the Telugu film industry. Reacting to recent court observations related to threats faced by movies, Vijay said he felt both happiness and sadness at the same time. He said he was happy that the hard work, dreams, and financial investments of many people involved in filmmaking are being protected to some extent, but deeply saddened that such problems are being created by people from within their own society.
Questioning the erosion of basic values, Vijay asked what had happened to the idea of “live and let live” and growing together. He recalled that since the time of his film Dear Comrade, he began witnessing what he called shocking politics and organised attacks targeting certain films. He stated that his voice on this issue went unheard for years, with many brushing aside his concerns by saying that no one can stop a good film. However, he pointed out that almost every producer and director who later worked with him eventually realised how serious and widespread the issue actually was.
Vijay revealed that he spent many sleepless nights thinking about the mindset of those who indulge in such acts and how to deal with them in order to protect not only his own dreams, but also the dreams of many aspiring talents who will come into the industry after him. He expressed relief that the issue has now come out into the open and that the court has officially recognised the threat to films, even when they star someone as influential and powerful as Megastar Chiranjeevi.
While admitting that this development may not completely eliminate the problem, Vijay said it would at least reduce one major worry for filmmakers. Ending his statement on a positive and hopeful note, he extended his best wishes to Mana Sankara Vara Prasad Garu (MSG) and all other Sankranti releases, hoping they perform extremely well and entertain audiences during the festive holiday season.
Vijay Deverakonda’s remarks have triggered widespread discussion across social media and film circles, once again drawing attention to the need for unity, fairness, and a healthier environment within the film industry.
