The film has Chiranjeevi & Nayanthara playing the lead roles while Venkatesh Daggubati, Catherine Tresa, Harsha Vardhan, Abhinav Gomatham, Sachin Khedekar, Sudev Nair, Raghu Babu, Sharat Saxena, Kushi Soni, Uha Reddy, Revanth Bhimala, Zarina Wahab, Viva Harsha & others are seen in important supporting roles. Story:
Shankara Varaprasad (Chiranjeevi) is an NIA security officer who has a broken marriage with a wealthy businesswoman, Sasirekha (Nayanthara). They both get a divorce after a few misunderstandings created by Sasirekha’s father (Sachin Khedekar) and are seperated from the last 6 years.
One day, Varaprasad gets a chance to be the security officer for Sasirekha’s father, and in this process, he tries all ways possible to rebuild his relationship with his ex-wife. Will he succeed in fixing his troubled married life? What role does Venky Gowda (Venkatesh Daggubati) play in this situation? Needs to be seen in the theatres.
What about on-screen performances?
Megastar Chiranjeevi returns to his forte with this wholesome family entertainer, delivering a complete all-round performance. From his impeccable comic timing and stylish dance moves to his emotionally charged moments and massy action blocks, he is in absolute top form and dominates the film throughout. Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu surely delivers the most entertaining version of Chiru post comeback, and it is a sheer delight to watch the legend in his absolute best form.
Victory Venkatesh is a live wire as Venky Gowda. Though he appears towards the fag end of the film, he leaves a massive impact with his 20-minute cameo. All his scenes with Chiru are a complete blast in theatres, and the dance sequence where both groove to each other’s hit numbers is an absolute crowd-pleaser.
Nayanthara suits the role of a wealthy businesswoman named Sasirekha, and all her romantic portions with Chiru in the first half are cute. She leaves a mark in every scene with perfectly measured and effective expressions.
Revanth Bhimala brings the house down in his small cameo as the CPL in the school scenes, while Kushi Soni & Uha Reddy perform neatly as the kids of the lead pair.
Catherine Tresa, Harsha Vardhan & Abhinav Gomatham are decent as the regular hero’s sidekicks.
Sudev Nair is fine with his performance bit his villain role fails to leave an impact.
Sachin Khedekar, Sharat Saxena, Raghu Babu, Zarina Wahab, Viva Harsha, Sai Priya Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, Vadlamani Srinivas, Anand Ramaraju & all others are fine in their limited supporting roles.
What about off-screen talents?
The screenplay follows a similar pattern to all of Anil’s family entertainers. But the good part is that the comedy works, even if it is termed as cringeworthy by some sectors of audiences. The second half feels a bit stretched with a few repetitive portions & some dull moments. Apart from these few issues, most of the scenes will keep a smile on our faces.
Director Anil Ravipudi plays to his strengths and delivers a film where Chiranjeevi can go all out and show his all-round skills. He presented Megastar in a way all the Mega fans craved for, and in a way that all general audiences will celebrate the star hero. Asusual, there is very little novelty with his plot, but his presentation and the way he brings out humour are appreciable.
The dialogues by Anil Ravipudi and additional dialogues by Ajju & Nag are witty and will deliver the much-needed laughs. There are a few not-so-funny lines, too, but they are negligible.
The songs by Bheems Ceciroleo are foot-tapping and are already doing well on all the streaming platforms. The Hook Step track & the Meesaala Pilla Song are the best ones of the album, while Sasirekha & The Mega Victory Mass song are shot beautifully. His background score is on-point and elevates the movie when required.
The cinematography by Sameer Reddy is top-notch. All the action set pieces and all the songs are shot beautifully. The lighting and the framing are on point, too.
The edit by Tammiraju is good in most parts. But it could’ve been even better if a few repetitive scenes in the second half had been chopped off.
The production design by A S Prakash is done well, and the costumes for all the actors look colourful.
Special mention to all the choreographers for the wonderful dance moves for Chiru and all the lyric writers for the lovely lyrics.
The production values by Shine Screens and Gold Box Entertainments are first-rate.
