A newly opened café in Bhopal’s Misrod area was attacked late on Tuesday night by a group of more than 20 masked men, creating panic among staff and customers. The attackers reportedly entered the café armed with sticks and swords, smashing glass panels, counters, furniture and several machines within minutes. Witnesses said the gang moved in aggressively, damaging everything in sight while people inside ran out for safety.
Staff members were manhandled and beaten when they tried to stop the attackers. Customers who were present at the time rushed outside in fear, leaving behind their belongings as chaos unfolded. Videos recorded by locals show the café in complete disorder, with broken shards and destroyed equipment scattered across the floor.
Residents in the area alerted the police immediately, but the attackers fled before officers arrived. The motive behind the violent attack is still unclear. Misrod Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify the men involved. Officers are examining CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses to determine whether the incident was linked to extortion, rivalry, or another dispute.
Local business owners have expressed concern over rising incidents of violence, urging authorities to strengthen security and ensure safety for commercial establishments. The shocking attack has sparked outrage on social media, with many users demanding strict action against the culprits.
Police officials said they are confident of making arrests soon and assured the public that those responsible will be brought to justice.
