The makers of Balan: The Boy celebrated the film’s successful theatrical run with a grand success meet in Hyderabad. Jointly produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, the multilingual psychological thriller has been receiving a positive response from audiences across Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi markets.
Directed by Chidambaram, known for the acclaimed Manjummel Boys, and written by Aavesham fame Jithu Madhavan, the film has emerged as a successful venture following its recent release. Annapurna Studios distributed the movie in the Telugu states, where it has garnered encouraging support from moviegoers.
Speaking at the event, producer Shailaja Desai Fenn expressed gratitude to director Chidambaram for trusting a first-time production house with the project. She also thanked KVN Productions’ Venkat K. Narayana for his unwavering support throughout the film’s journey and revealed that Thespian Films is also working on a Hindi project titled Haiwaan under the direction of Priyadarshan.
Child artist Muhammad Zinan thanked audiences for their overwhelming support and described Balan: The Boy as a unique cinematic experience that deserves to be watched on the big screen. Actor Jean Paul Lal said he was delighted to be part of the film and hoped Telugu audiences would embrace it just as Malayalam viewers did.
Child actor Adhiseshan expressed happiness over the appreciation he has received for his performance and thanked Chidambaram for giving him a significant role in the film. Actress Farzana Palathingal said the response to her character has been highly encouraging and credited the film’s strong script for helping her deliver the performance. She also expressed confidence that Telugu audiences would continue supporting meaningful and distinctive cinema.
Director Chidambaram highlighted the love Telugu audiences have always shown toward quality films, irrespective of language. He noted that the success of Manjummel Boys gave him the confidence to bring another unique story to Telugu viewers.
“Good films will always find their space, and audiences will support them. Balan: The Boy is proof of that,” Chidambaram said. He revealed that the story was inspired by several real-life experiences and that many of the characters portrayed in the film are based on people who exist around us in everyday life.
The filmmaker also shared his desire to direct films in Telugu and Tamil and disclosed that discussions regarding a Telugu project are already underway. Thanking Annapurna Studios for distributing the film and Naga Chaitanya for promoting it, Chidambaram emphasized that the film’s story remains its biggest strength.
Balan: The Boy features Adhiseshan, Farzana Palathingal, Muhammad Zinan, Tovino Thomas, Girish A.D., Jean Paul Lal, and several others in key roles. With strong word-of-mouth and positive audience feedback, the film continues to enjoy a successful run in theatres.
