Kamal Haasan has entered one of the busiest phases of his career as a producer. While balancing his political responsibilities and acting commitments, the veteran star is aggressively expanding the slate of Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) with multiple prestigious projects featuring top stars and promising filmmakers. Kamal Haasan has never produced multiple films in his career and he has some crazy films lined up:
The banner is producing Rajinikanth’s Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. The project generated huge buzz after multiple changes in the director’s chair before Ashwath was finalized. Starring Rajinikanth alongside Simran and Raashii Khanna, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, the action thriller is currently progressing on schedule and is among the biggest Tamil films under production. The shoot commenced recently.
The other big project is Sivakarthikeyan’s Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan. The film recently commenced shooting and is being mounted on a grand scale. RKFI is backing the project with a substantial budget, banking on Sivakarthikeyan’s growing pan-Indian popularity after a string of successful films. The film’s release plan will be announced soon.
Kamal Haasan is equally excited about its collaboration with director SU Arun Kumar, who earned widespread acclaim with Chittha and followed it up with Veera Dheera Sooran. The director has reportedly developed two fresh story ideas and Kamal Haasan is expected to hear the narration very soon. If the script impresses him, he is likely to headline the film himself. Otherwise, RKFI will approach another leading actor for the project.
KHxRK: Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth will be teaming up for the biggest multi-starrer directed by Jailer fame Nelson. The announcement was made this year but the shoot is expected to commence next year. Red Giant Movies and Raaj Kamal Films International will produce this film jointly.
Apart from these, Kamal Haasan is lining up two films for himself. The scripts are being finalized and one among them will be finalized very soon. For now, Kamal Haasan and Raaj Kamal Films International are the busiest with a heap of crazy films in the pipeline.
