With just 6 days left for its theatrical release, producer Maheshwar Reddy Mooli has expressed immense confidence in Oh! Sukumari, describing it as a wholesome family entertainer packed with emotion, comedy, and a refreshing concept that will resonate with audiences across all age groups.
Starring young hero Thiruveer and talented actress Aishwarya Rajesh, the village-based family entertainer is directed by debutant Bharath Darshan and produced under the Ganga Entertainments banner. The film has already generated strong buzz through its first look, teaser, songs, and trailer.
Maheshwar Reddy Mooli revealed that the project began after cinematographer introduced director Bharath Darshan to him. “The story instantly impressed me. We spent nearly a year refining the screenplay before taking it to the floors,” he shared.
The producer said the film’s biggest strength lies in its unique premise revolving around the idea of electric shock. According to him, the concept blends entertainment and emotions in an entirely new way while remaining relatable. “Every human body carries electrical energy, though it varies from person to person. We’ve built an engaging story around that logic,” he explained.
He also revealed that Thiruveer and Aishwarya Rajesh were the team’s first choices for the lead roles. The makers reportedly waited nearly three months for Aishwarya Rajesh to come on board before commencing the shoot. They approached her after the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, believing she was the perfect fit for the character.
Maheshwar Reddy assured audiences that Oh! Sukumari offers complete value for money. “This is a film every family can watch together. Audiences will feel every rupee spent on the ticket is worthwhile,” he said.
Having worked as a distributor before turning producer, he emphasized that the film has been designed primarily for the theatrical experience. He also confirmed that Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital streaming rights.
Looking ahead, he revealed plans for another collaboration with Thiruveer and also announced an upcoming project with actor Satya Dev, while continuing his distribution business alongside film production.
