Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is one of the most awaited Indian films of the year. According to industry reports, Sun Pictures is quoting big money for the Telugu theatrical rights of the film. The price is among the highest ever quoted for a dubbed film in the Telugu market and negotiations are yet to reach a conclusion. The makers are confident because of the phenomenal performance of Jailer in Telugu. The 2023 blockbuster collected a record gross in the Telugu states. For now the deal is yet to be closed in Telugu because of the big quote.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 reunites Rajinikanth with Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa and Vasanth Ravi, while SJ Suryah joins the franchise in a key role. The film has already completed shooting and is scheduled for a Dasara release on October 15, 2026. Its digital rights have also fetched a record deal, underlining the strong business surrounding the sequel. Anirudh is scoring the music and Hrithik Roshan will be seen in a cameo in Jailer 2.
