Nandamuri Balakrishna successfully underwent knee surgery at AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad after sustaining an injury during the shoot of his upcoming film. The hospital released a detailed medical bulletin on Wednesday, confirming that the actor suffered a tear in the left quadriceps tendon, the strong tissue connecting the thigh muscle to the kneecap. Doctors also found tears in the supporting tissues on both sides of the knee. After a thorough evaluation of the injury and Balakrishna’s overall health, a multidisciplinary medical team decided to perform surgery. The procedure was aimed at reattaching the torn tendon, repairing the damaged supporting tissues and strengthening the reconstruction to ensure proper healing.
According to the medical bulletin, the surgery lasted for more than three hours. During the procedure, doctors cleared the accumulated blood around the injured area before carefully reattaching the torn tendon to the kneecap. The damaged tissues on both sides of the knee were also repaired. The hospital confirmed that the surgery was completed successfully without any complications. The hospital further stated that Balakrishna is stable and remains under close post-operative observation. His recovery will be monitored by a multidisciplinary medical team, and rehabilitation will begin gradually depending on his progress.
The actor is expected to take adequate rest before returning to the sets. The makers of his upcoming film are likely to revise the shooting schedule based on his recovery, while fans across the Telugu states have been wishing him a speedy recovery.
