With courtroom dramas continuing to attract audiences across OTT platforms, Objection My Lord – Notary Parasuram Chapter 1 is gearing up for its premiere on Telugu ZEE5 on July 31. Ahead of the release, actor Srikanth Meka spoke at length about the series during a media interaction, explaining why he believes the legal thriller offers a fresh experience compared to conventional courtroom dramas. According to the actor, the series is built around an unusual concept that immediately caught his attention and convinced him to take up the project.
Asked what makes Objection My Lord different from other legal dramas, Srikanth pointed to the central premise of the story. He explained that, unlike most courtroom thrillers where the police investigate crimes and lawyers present the evidence before a judge, this series follows a lawyer who personally investigates the case before stepping into the courtroom. He described that narrative approach as the biggest strength of the series and said it gives the audience a completely different perspective on legal storytelling.
Srikanth said portraying advocate Parasuram was one of the most demanding roles of his career. He revealed that the character required him to understand legal terminology, courtroom procedures and the investigative side of the profession. Since he had never played such a role before, he found the experience both challenging and exciting. The actor added that he generally chooses projects only when they offer him something new as a performer, and Parasuram was exactly the kind of character he had been looking for.
The actor also spoke about the preparation that went into the role, particularly the lengthy courtroom dialogues filled with legal sections and terminology. He said he spent considerable time preparing before the shoot, treating the role with the seriousness of preparing for an important examination. His aim, he explained, was to deliver the scenes without unnecessary retakes and ensure the legal arguments felt convincing on screen.
When asked about the possibility of another season, Srikanth clarified that the current story has been conceived as a single-season narrative. However, he pointed out that the format itself has the potential to continue through fresh investigations and new legal cases if the platform decides to expand the franchise in the future. At present, though, no second season has been planned.
Director Santhosh Ayyappan said authenticity was the foundation of the series. According to him, the team consciously stayed away from exaggerated cinematic treatment and instead focused on making the courtroom proceedings, legal arguments and investigation process as realistic as possible. He added that every episode has been structured to reveal new information, keeping viewers engaged while constantly changing their assumptions about the mystery.
Ananya Sharmaa, who plays Vedha, said the story surprised her with its unexpected twists even while reading the script. She expressed confidence that audiences would connect emotionally with the series and appreciate the message it delivers. Mukesh Rishi, who plays a senior lawyer, described the role as a refreshing challenge, saying it allowed him to explore a completely new character despite his long career in the industry.
