It has been 27 years since Mahesh Babu was introduced to Telugu cinema with Rajakumarudu on July 30, 1999. Now, his brother’s son, Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni, is making his debut as a lead actor with Srinivasa Mangapuram, which also releases on July 30. Superstar fans expected Mahesh Babu to attend the pre-release event because Jayakrishna represents the next generation of the Ghattamaneni family. His presence and speech would have given a huge boost to the film and the fans. However, whatever the reason may be, Mahesh disappointed many fans. A formal video byte was released instead.
Jayakrishna appears to be giving his best and is promoting the film on his own across all platforms. The biggest surprise is that the team only conducted a formal press meet and did not organise a grand pre-release event. The same producers had arranged two major events for Roshan Meka’s Champion before its release. But when a Ghattamaneni youngster is being launched, there has been no such grand event. Hardcore fans of Superstar Krishna have now decided to celebrate the film in theatres. They have taken it upon themselves to promote Srinivasa Mangapuram and support Jayakrishna.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is being trolled, with many arguing that it was his responsibility to introduce Jayakrishna in the best possible manner. The Varanasi shoot and other reasons are being cited for his absence, but many fans are not convinced. Leaving aside the film’s result or Jayakrishna’s future, Srinivasa Mangapuram deserved far better promotion than what it received.
Srinivasa Mangapuram is a mass entertainer directed by Ajay Bhupathi. Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni and Rasha Thadani play the lead roles, while C. Ashwini Dutt and Gemini Kiran are producing the film.
