Merlapaka Gandhi made an impressive debut with Venkatadri Express and he then delivered one more blockbuster like Express Raja. His later films Krishnarjuna Yudham, Ek Mini Katha, Maestro and Like, Share & Subscribe ended up as disappointments. During his tough days, Varun Tej believed in Merlapaka Gandhi and offered Korean Kanakaraju. The film passed the Monday test and emerged as a super hit. The film is a huge relief for Varun Tej.
But Merlapaka Gandhi’s work received criticism. The writing was not upto the mark and it was Satya who carried the film on his shoulders. The film was entertaining in parts but Merlapaka Gandhi’s work was not well received. As the film attained hit status, Merlapaka Gandhi will get several offers but he has to be extra cautious with his writing in his next. The young and talented director has to keep a special focus on the quality of entertainment. The second half of the film failed to live up to the expectations but the audience were much interested to watch the film. It is a narrow escape for Merlapaka Gandhi.
