Wamiqa Gabbi has joined the cast of Jai Hanuman, the upcoming pan-India mythological epic directed by Prasanth Varma. The actress, who is currently seen as Chandra in DC: The Bloody Valentine, has reportedly been signed for a prominent role in the film. Her character details are being kept under wraps for now. Wamiqa has had a busy year with multiple releases and is now set to enter the world of mythology, action and devotion with Jai Hanuman. She is expected to join the Hyderabad schedule of the film soon. Jai Hanuman is the sequel to Prasanth Varma’s Hanu-Man. Rishab Shetty is playing Lord Hanuman in the film, taking the story forward into a larger world set in Kaliyug. The film is being designed as an action epic while retaining the devotional core of the character.
The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series. It is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, which is being expanded with films based on characters and stories from Indian mythology. The film went on floors in March and the makers are planning a theatrical release in the second half of 2027. Wamiqa’s portrayal in DC received exceptional response and she is in demand. She also has Prahaar with Rajkummar Rao and Goodachari 2 with Adivi Sesh lined up, apart from other projects.
