The Telangana Government has officially permitted a temporary increase in ticket prices for the upcoming pan-India film ‘Toxic’, which is scheduled to release on August 26, 2026. The approval was issued by the Home (General) Department through a memo dated August 25, 2026, following a request submitted by KVN–Monster Mind Creations LLP.
As per the government order, single-screen theatres across Telangana can charge an additional ₹50 per ticket, inclusive of GST, while multiplexes and special category theatres have been allowed to collect an extra ₹100 per ticket, also inclusive of GST.
The revised ticket prices will be applicable from August 26 to September 4, 2026, for a total of 10 days, and will be valid for up to five regular shows per day.
The government has attached certain conditions while granting the ticket price enhancement. KVN–Monster Mind Creations LLP has been directed to make a mandatory contribution of ₹1 crore to the Telugu Film Industry Employees’ Welfare Committee Account, which is operated by the Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC). The amount will be utilized for the welfare and benefit of employees and workers associated with the Telugu film industry.
In addition, theatre managements have been instructed to screen public awareness advertisements highlighting the harmful effects of narcotics, drug abuse, and cybercrime before the film’s screening. The order also directs District Collectors, Commissioners of Police, and Licensing Authorities (Cinemas) across Telangana to ensure strict implementation and compliance with the government’s instructions.
The latest order allows exhibitors to charge enhanced ticket prices while ensuring that the benefit also supports film industry workers and promotes important public awareness campaigns.
