Popular actress and social media personality Ashu Reddy has landed in controversy after a non-bailable case was reportedly registered against her and members of her family over allegations linked to a marriage promise dispute.
According to the complaint, a man identified as Dharmendra alleged that Ashu Reddy collected huge amounts of money, gold, and properties from him while assuring marriage. The complaint claims that she received assets worth several crores, including around ₹9.8 crore in gold, cash, and a flat.
It is further alleged that nearly 5 kilograms of gold was taken from Dharmendra during the course of their relationship. The complaint also states that Ashu Reddy accepted advance money for a luxury villa valued at around ₹3 crore.
Dharmendra reportedly spent heavily on Ashu Reddy believing that the marriage would take place. The complaint also mentions that ₹50 lakh was given to her sister Divya Reddy.
However, the situation allegedly changed suddenly when Ashu Reddy is said to have refused to marry Dharmendra. After this, Dharmendra reportedly demanded either marriage or the return of the money and valuables given.
The complaint further alleges that instead of returning the money, threats were made that a counter case would be filed against him. Following this, Dharmendra’s father approached the police, leading to the registration of the case.
Police are expected to investigate the financial transactions and allegations in detail. An official response from Ashu Reddy’s side is awaited.
