Priyadarshi’s upcoming film Idupu Kayitham was launched grandly today with traditional pooja ceremonies. The film is being produced by Sukumar and Bunny Vas under the banners of Sukumar Writings and Bunny Vas Works. Telangana folk artist Nagadurga makes her debut as the female lead, while young filmmaker Vamsi Reddy Dondapati directs the project.

Acclaimed Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj attended the launch as the chief guest and unveiled the film’s first-look poster. Producer Allu Aravind gave the ceremonial clap for the muhurtham shot. The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including Dil Raju, Naveen Yerneni, KL Damodar Prasad, SKN, Bapineedu, Dheeraj Mogilineni, Meher Ramesh, Chandoo Mondeti, Sai Rajesh, Venu Udugula and Sai Marthand.
Speaking at the event, director Vamsi Reddy Dondapati said Idupu Kayitham is a heartfelt family drama rooted in Telangana culture, language and traditions. He thanked the producers and cast for believing in the story and expressed confidence that audiences would connect with its emotions.
Producer Thabitha Sukumar revealed that the story instantly reminded her of real-life family experiences and convinced her that it deserved to be made under Sukumar Writings. Producer Bunny Vas described the film as a universal family entertainer that would connect with audiences across regions, saying the emotional core of the story is relatable to every household.
Priyadarshi said he immediately felt a personal connection with the script and is excited to play the role of Srinivas. He added that while the film is deeply rooted in Telangana, its emotions are universal and will resonate with families everywhere.
Making her debut as a heroine, Nagadurga thanked Sukumar, Bunny Vas and the team for believing in her talent. She said the role of Srilatha carries strong emotional depth and expressed confidence that the film would be celebrated by audiences.
Several members of the cast, including Shivajyothi, Jordar Sujatha, Chandravva, Bithiri Sathi, Racha Ravi, Mime Madhu and Abhai Bethiganti, also shared their excitement and praised the film’s emotionally driven story. Music director Suresh Bobbili said the film has the potential to touch audiences across both Telugu states with its heartfelt narrative and memorable music.
