July second weekend has been stupendous for the Akkineni family. Akhil Akkineni who has been waiting for a proper hit from a decade has delivered it in his style with Lenin. He carried the film on his shoulders and he did justice to the mass role. Lenin, which is presented as a rural drama packed with emotions and a love story, won the hearts of the audience. The film performed exceptionally well and it reached breakeven mark in most of the regions of the Telugu states.
Lenin remained as the only choice for the audience during the weekend. The number of shows were increased on Saturday and Sunday. Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram has been decent in some of the regions. Prithviraj Sukumaran’s I Nobody is a washout as the film struggled to witness decent footfalls. This is because of the poor promotions and bad word of mouth. Atharva Murali’s Idhayam Murali released as Hrudayam Murali and the film too failed to make an impact. Akhil’s Lenin is the winner of the weekend and all eyes are now focused on how the film will perform on weekdays. Akhil finally broke the jinx with Lenin and he is super delighted.
