From Trolls to Cheers… Kiku Reacts
The team behind the survival thriller Kiku Chiranjeevi celebrated the film’s successful theatrical run with a grand success meet in Hyderabad. Starring Kiku Yenamala and Kashish Khan in the lead roles, the film, directed by Shubha Sai Venkat and produced by Deepti Nadiminti under the Kiku Entertainments banner, has received a positive response from audiences and emerged as a successful release during the Raksha Bandhan holiday season.
Speaking at the event, editor Chota K. Prasad praised the entire team for believing in a fresh concept and working with complete dedication. He said the film’s biggest achievement was not just its commercial performance but the appreciation it earned from audiences. He added that aspiring filmmakers, especially newcomers, could learn from the sincerity and commitment shown by the team.
Director Shubha Sai Venkat recalled the many challenges faced during the making of the film, including production delays and release hurdles. He said the team considered completing the film itself a victory, and the overwhelming audience response after its release has made the journey even more rewarding. According to him, hearing positive feedback from viewers has been the biggest satisfaction.
Producer Deepti Nadiminti thanked audiences for supporting the film and said she remained confident despite the uncertainty before release. She noted that the success of Kiku Chiranjeevi once again proved that audiences always encourage good content, regardless of a film’s scale or budget. Deepti also revealed that the team had initially hoped to cast a Telugu actress as the heroine, but some actresses were hesitant to perform a romantic song. She confirmed that their next project would feature a Telugu heroine while continuing to focus on strong, content-driven storytelling.
Hero Kiku Yenamala expressed his happiness over the film’s reception and shared that he has been personally visiting theatres to watch audience reactions. He said seeing viewers connect emotionally with the story makes all the hard work behind the film worthwhile. Responding to discussions surrounding the film, Kiku clarified that there was never any intention to disrespect Megastar Chiranjeevi. He said some social media users misunderstood the film without knowing its actual content, but the team remained confident because they believed in their story.
Kiku also spoke about working with veteran actress Easwari Rao, who played his mother in the film. He said a key emotional scene between them received appreciation from everyone on the set, motivating him to deliver his best performance. He added that he hopes many more fresh talents will enter the Telugu film industry in the coming years.
Featuring performances by Kiku Yenamala, Kashish Khan, Tanikella Bharani, Easwari Rao, Srikanth Bharat, Viva Raghava, Girish and others, Kiku Chiranjeevi continues to enjoy positive word-of-mouth and strong audience appreciation in theatres.
