The Telugu remake is said to be backed by producer Dil Raju, who has acquired the remake rights.
Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate is a Gujarati devotional drama directed by Ankit Sakhiya. The film revolves around a troubled man who experiences visions of Lord Krishna and goes through a journey of self-discovery. Shruhad Goswami played the role of Lord Krishna in the original film. The Gujarati film started with limited attention but picked up strongly through word of mouth and eventually became a major success for Gujarati cinema. Its devotional theme and emotional storytelling connected with audiences, leading to interest in remaking the film in other languages.
For Vijay Deverakonda, the project would be a different choice from his recent commercial films. Playing Lord Krishna also gives the actor an opportunity to explore a character that requires a different approach and presentation. The director of the Telugu version has not been officially announced.
