Director Pavan Sadineni has been granted bail in the case filed by a woman from the film industry. Pavan was arrested by the Golconda police after the woman accused him of sexual exploitation, physical assault and cheating her on the promise of marriage and film opportunities. He was earlier sent to judicial custody after being produced before a magistrate. The case was registered based on the woman’s complaint. She alleged that she had been in a relationship with Pavan for more than a year and claimed that he had promised to marry her. She also alleged that he had assured her of career support and opportunities in films. The police registered the case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and arrested the director.
Pavan Sadineni is currently directing Aakasam Lo Oka Tara, which stars Dulquer Salmaan. The director is known for films such as Prema Ishq Kaadhal, Savitri and Senapathi, apart from his work in web series. With the court now granting bail, Pavan is expected to come out of judicial custody. However, the case itself will continue and the allegations made in the complaint are yet to be established in court.
