The film has crossed 34 lakh views since its digital premiere, giving ZEE5 one of its biggest South Indian film performances on the platform. The viewership is still growing as Vijay fans continue to watch the actor’s final film. Jana Nayagan started streaming on ZEE5 on August 21, nearly a month after its theatrical release. The film arrived on the platform after a delayed theatrical journey, which included issues related to certification. Despite the delays, the digital release has managed to bring audiences back to the film.
The film also has the added advantage of being promoted as Vijay’s final film before he shifted his focus completely towards politics. This farewell factor has helped the film remain in discussion even after its theatrical run. Fans who missed the film in theatres and those looking to watch it again have turned to the OTT platform.
