Two leading OTT platforms have offered a deal of Rs 150 crores for the digital streaming rights of Yash’s Toxic before the film’s release. The makers have quoted Rs 200 crores while the players have been strict on their stand. Yash, a partner in the film, has decided to hold the digital rights till the film’s release. After Toxic ended up as a disaster, the OTT players slashed down the deal.
Zee Studios has offered Rs 30 crores for the digital rights of the film now. The makers are left in shock as Zee is the only platform which is ready to buy the digital rights while all the other players have decided to stay away. The makers will now have no other option left except to close the deal for such a low price considering the film’s huge budget. Things changed badly after the film ended up as a disaster.
The team also headed for an own release in theatres and the makers will now lose big money as per the investments and returns. Yash worked on a profit sharing model after he took a decent remuneration for the film. Geethu Mohandas is the director and KVN Productions bankrolled Toxic.
