Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced a ₹1 lakh crore Global Horticulture Hub at Madanapalle in Annamayya district, calling it a major step towards transforming Rayalaseema into a leading centre for agriculture and industry. Speaking after inaugurating the Rayalaseema Steel Plant project, Naidu said the foundation stone for the ambitious project will be laid before August 15.
The Chief Minister said the state government will contribute ₹40,000 crore while the remaining ₹60,000 crore will come through private investments. He expressed confidence that the project would strengthen horticulture, promote food processing industries, create employment, and improve farmers’ incomes across the region.
Highlighting the success of horticulture, Naidu said Lingala mandal in Pulivendula has recorded a per capita income of over ₹7 lakh due to large-scale horticultural cultivation. He added that irrigation projects such as Gandikota and the completed Avuku tunnel are improving water availability and supporting agriculture in Rayalaseema. The government will also ensure proper rehabilitation for families displaced by development projects.
Naidu said Rayalaseema is being developed as a future investment destination for space, aerospace, defence, drone technology, electronics, renewable energy, automobiles, and food processing. He revealed that JSW has shown interest in investing in the proposed Space City and Drone City in the Tirupati district. He also announced plans to develop Gandikota into a world-class tourism destination.
The Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh is attracting fresh investments because of stable governance and policy certainty. He reaffirmed that Amaravati will be developed as the state’s capital and said the government remains committed to accelerating economic growth across every region.
