After spending more than a decade shaping the marketing and digital campaigns of several blockbuster Telugu films, Sarath Chandra Naidu has stepped into a new role as a producer. His debut production, Gurthukosthunnayi, is being described by its team as having received an encouraging response from audiences, marking a promising beginning to his filmmaking journey.
Known for his work behind the scenes in film promotions, Sarath Chandra has now expanded his creative responsibilities beyond marketing. Along with producing the series, he also contributed to the writing, working closely with director Vinod and the writing team to develop several portions of the story. His understanding of audience emotions and storytelling played an important role in shaping the final product.
The idea for Gurthukosthunnayi originated from Sarath Chandra’s Instagram podcast page, Relangi Mavayya, where he shares nostalgic stories inspired by life in the 1990s. The page gradually built a loyal audience, with many viewers connecting deeply with its emotional and nostalgic content.
After watching the content, ETV Win’s Sai and Nitin felt the concept had the potential to be developed into a web series. Their encouragement eventually led to the making of Gurthukosthunnayi.
Sarath Chandra says his long experience in film marketing proved valuable while producing the series. According to him, marketing helped him understand audience preferences and emotional connections, which guided his creative decisions throughout the project—from writing and production to the overall presentation of the series.
Adding to the special moment was the encouragement from Allu Arjun. The actor personally congratulated Sarath Chandra on his debut as a producer and wished him success publicly. The gesture highlighted the strong professional relationship they have built over the years and reflected the encouragement given to emerging talent within Allu Arjun’s team.
The team behind Gurthukosthunnayi says the series has received a positive response from viewers, making Sarath Chandra’s transition from film marketing to production a memorable first step. Having worked across marketing, writing and production, he now begins a new chapter in filmmaking with his debut project.
